I managed to touch bases with the charming Geremy Pallis, 2012 King of the Gay Archipelago and honored member of the Royal Court. Here is what Geremy had to say about the Carnival Ball, Gay Archpelago and SL in general!
Hamilton Lecker: Congratulation on winning the title, 2012 King of the Gay Archipelago, an honored member of the Royal Court… I did not manage to attend the ball.. Tell us a little about THE outfit you wore….
Geremy Pallis: I chose a black winged angel look with boots, underwear, and gloves.
Hamilton Lecker: How did you choose it… Was it an easy choice… And the Mask…Tell us about it?.
Geremy Pallis: The first thing that came to mind was Carnivale and Mardi Gras and the images I have seen,I had never been to a Carnivale celebration in SL, but the first thought is flashy, fun, sexy outfits people put on for festivities, and this was the most fitting and playful outfit I had. The mask was a glittery black painted on mask that covered around the eyes and along the side of the face.

Hamilton Lecker: How did you get to know about the Ball?
Geremy Pallis: Honestly, the first I heard of the balls was through SquirtN Wonder, in preparations a couple weeks ahead of the event.
Hamilton Lecker: Do you have a personal involvement with the Gay Archipelago?
Geremy Pallis: I am the club manager at Club AerieN in the Gay Archipelago, as well as working as a dancer at the Gay Riviera for the Casual Dex event every Saturday.
Hamilton Lecker: What do you most like and admire about the Gay Archipelago?
Geremy Pallis: The biggest thing for me is, its trying to develop and foster a community in SL for the gay culture, focused more on cooperation and involvement, rather than competition. I think too many times in SL and RL, we make it about how we can be better than this or that and how we can outdo each other, so its great to see a community coming together to participate.
Hamilton Lecker: On this Geremy, I could not agree more. We certainly need to bring the Gay Archipelago residents closer to each other in a loving and respectful fashion!
Hamilton Lecker: Do you attend many of the events promoted by the Gay Archipelago?
Geremy Pallis: I try when I have time away from both RL and SL responsibilities.
Hamilton Lecker: What events and functions do you most enjoy?
Geremy Pallis: For me, the most fun so far has been the club events, because I enjoy music, the banter, and its very interesting for me to go out and hear different styles, and to find music I, myself then love, that I may not have heard otherwise. And the biggest bonus is meeting new, interesting friends.
Hamilton Lecker: How long have you been a member of the SL society?
Geremy Pallis: I have been in SL for a little over a year and a half now.
Hamilton Lecker: What do you most like about SL?
The King - In all his glory!
Geremy Pallis: For me, SL is such an amazing place because it allows us all to come out from ourselves more than we could in real life. We can explore things that aren’t possible in the real world, we can test our boundaries on things that might have greater impact otherwise, and learn truer, deeper meanings of ourselves, and the people we meet here.
Hamilton Lecker: What do you most dislike about SL?
Geremy Pallis: I don’t know if there really is anything I DISLIKE about SL. I mean sure, there are the annoyances of the operation limits for things, but thats to be expected. Its difficult to truly hate something that is all about what you make of it yourself.
Hamilton Lecker: Are you romantically involved in SL or do you have a very special person you hang out with in SL?
Geremy Pallis: I do enjoy spending my time with some very close, very special friends in SL, the rest will develop in time, if its meant to.
Hamilton Lecker: Are you willing to share any of your Deepest and Darkest SL secrets with our GA readers?
Geremy Pallis: Secrets? what are those?! Get to know me and I might share!

Hamilton Lecker: What has been your most embarrassing moment in SL?
Geremy Pallis: Hmmmmm, I would have to say, the most embarrassing is talking on skype with a friend, and suddenly realizing that my SL voice was on as well and our subject was not exactly PG rated.
Hamilton Lecker: Is there anything else that you would like to say to our GA readers?
Geremy Pallis: Just thank you for the honor of being the 2012 Carnivale King, and if you see me out, don’t be shy, say hello. I love learning about new people and new places, and I am all about the experience here, and I want to live my second life to the fullest.
